0.6 beta crash

Post by cursor71 » Thu Apr 22, 2010 1:04 am

Hi,
Windows Version 0.54 works great for me. But 0.6 beta11 only gets to the title "splash" screen (with the scrolling credits) and then crashes.
I get the message "An error has occurred. Debugging information could not be logged".
I successfully got it to work once, but all other times it has crashed at the same spot. No idea what was different about that one instance.

Any help is greatly appreciated. I'm a long time fan of TA and this looks amazing!

Can you provide stderr.txt and stdout.txt from /ta3d/logs/ folder?

Does beta 10 work for you ? Someone has already reported a similar problem with beta 11 but beta 10 was working.

Sadly I was unable to test b11 yet, so I can`t confirm the presence/absence of this bug on my system. I`ll try to test it today.

If I recall correctly, beta10 had the same problem.
When I get home I will test that again and try to provide log files.
However I attempted to attach the log to my original post, and the board rules prevented it, claiming both .txt and .log files were forbidden.

thanks!

I've just tested on a real windows, it seems it won't start unless there is a readable video/intro.mpg file :(

Copy any *.mpg video file in /ta3d/video/ folder and rename it to intro.mpg
