Registration lock?

Post by DOT » Sat Oct 29, 2011 11:57 am

Recently those spambots are getting annyoning not to mention we got alot of spam accounts here
we should close the registration until it is cleaned.

i mean 70~ Page full of spambot accounts

We should somehow make a thread open who everyone shall post who is not a spambot within 1 month.
Somehow the account list needs to be cleaned it cannot be that we got 70~ pages full of shit.

I made it sticky thill we solved the Spambot account problemms.
Especially the Code and Development forum gets spammed alot...
Man this even more boring then a stupid watchdog job,

New accounts should be only to Post here thill their Post is approved they can post to somewhere else, should be better manageable

And give me finally IP Ban permission seriously, most of the spambots are retarded enough to use the same ip

The new registered Group needs a serious clean up.

Well, AFIK we can:
1. add restriction to posting for new registered persons - 1 day, it should be more than enought.
2. restrict for newly registered bots to post messages with URL links.
3. ....
4. PROFIT!!!

That is something should be implented
Also there should give something that is a spam bot proof verification and not the one which we have
which is due to my knowledge just some random numbers

This is abnormal, not even on our "brother" website got such a spambots problem who even spams with birthday's

The problem is that anti-spam restrictions can be easilly bypassed by had-typing of captcha - all other can be done automatically. In such case - there is no protection against such spam methods except that was mentioned above.

The new version of phpBB has a new anti-spam feature (enabled of course :P). Registration is enabled again. So far so good.
