I'm not sure if you want to make a change in this part of the system before 0.4.1 final but I think pathfinding is still far from satisfactory...
I ran a game to test the rc1 and found again the long lasting same beaviour bugs (in fact it's more like a feature with the existing code) :
-units can be confused when need to go around a construction (can even go completely opposite way you clicked)
-units can be stuck near a construction or in a terrain irregularity (hole, rock...)
-units can be stuck into factories at the end of construction
-units takes a long time to move or seems to hesitate on the way to go
tests on 0.4.1 rc1
