Strange behaving while starting

Post by Seamon » Wed Jan 10, 2007 7:56 pm

Hello,

the first version i tested was the 0.2.2 on my laptop, and it worked. It also worked for short time on my other PC. Since then I've testet 0.2.4 and 0.3.0 on my normal PC, and I can start it normally. I set the graphic and this stuff, and I can chose the map and I can even start the game. After I have startet, the gray screen with the "Bienvenu" appers, and then it stops and nothing happend, altought the framerate is at 120 or even 140. After about a minute, it zooms to the commander, not exaclty to the commander, just so far away, that I can't select it (everything is gray, the commander is a grid model). When I try to change the perpective, nothing happens, and after a while it goes back to the gray overall screen and restarts.

What can I do?

P.S.: On my Laptop, it doesn't work at all. When I start it apears an error message because of a missing file. I don't know which, but it's less important anyway.

I assume you're running the windows version, if it takes time to starts the game (changing the view) try to set the game speed to 1.0, or more it should speeds things up.

we need more information like:
_OS (version)
_graphics card (ati or Nvidia), driver version
_may be a screenshot if it works (press F12 to take it, it will create a screenshoot****.jpg in your TA3D directory)

if you can also post a copy of TA3D's console.log file it might help

if you installed TA3D over a previous version, try to remove it first

Yes, I got the windows version (english or french) doesn't matter. I understand both languages and they have both the same problem.

And I'ver found out, that this problem appears only on water maps. Maps without water works normally (I normally don't play them, so I always had problems). The card two mountains with lava crashes at the end of the loading process.

Graphic card is ATI Radeon 9600.

Making screenshots is not possible. And the console.txt tells:

ok, there are some problems with GLSL and ati boards, try setting water quality to 1 or 0, it will deactivate GLSL shaders when rendering water and lava.

wow, cool , I had tested TA3D with a GeForce 2 MX (i reach 100 fps on a 1.26 GHz) , but never with a slower card.

In fact TA3D is very CPU dependent, especially with lots of units.
