Error found!

Post by Johnsonpapa » Mon Jul 27, 2009 7:31 pm

It happened 2 times when I am playing the game in solo.
1. When I tried to load a different map.
2. When in game play building a solar collector(Arm)
It suddenly pop-up a message box and said my computer does not support debugging stuff:
An error has occured
Debugging information could not be logged bcause this isn't not supported for your system.
Please report to this forum. And I did. Please fix this problem if you can. Thanks! :)

ok, can you send me your cfg file ?
I've noticed this in the logs:

Code: Select all

[Mon Jul 27 20:22:40 2009] [infos] [OpenGL] Vendor: Intel
[Mon Jul 27 20:22:40 2009] [infos] [OpenGL] Renderer: Intel 915GM
I suspect some unsupported setting is enabled.

You can compress in to zip or rar and upload.

I've seen those settings in your cfg file:

Code: Select all

             Show Shadows = true;
           Detail Texture = true;
  Use Texture Compression = true;
disabling some or all of them may fix the problem (you may have to delete the cache directory between tests)
You can also try to disable shaders completely with:

Code: Select all

             Disable GLSL = true;
since you have an Intel chip, using the following settings can help increasing frame rate if needed:

Code: Select all

               Render Sky = false;
       Low Definition Map = true;

I've got an other error and sorry for double posting. The error occured before the game start when it is loading GUI.
There are two different situations.
First one:
After I read your post I disabled some of the settings. After that the right and the bottom part background gone completly wrong. It is either black or some random coloured stripes. Well that dont matter as soon I can still click on the buttons. When I tried to load the game. It crashed when it loads to GUI. Then I gone to the situation below.
Second one:
Since you said disabling all the settings might solve the problem. Well I did keep the full screen stuff but I think that will not effect the program. I disabled all of it (exept the full screen) then I tried to start the game in solo (since that goes first then the multiplayer mode.). The loading went well. The loading bar gone all the way right. That means the loading has finished. Then the game crashed again.

I uploaded the log and cfg file like last time incase you need it. If you need more file I can provide it to you if you can post what else is needed. Thanks.

did you clear the cache directory ?
it may help when you disable texture compression.
Also which data files (totala1.hpi, totala2.hpi, etc...) do you use ?

No I haven't move anything from the cache directory.
In that folder there are:
cache_info.txt
d (a file not folder) 0kb
Loads of 3dobase stuff...
tmpgfx images...
and loads of tga files

The TA3D folder has:
totala1.hpi
totala2.hpi
totala3.hpi
totala4.hpi
rev31.gp3 (since the installation told me to copy this to the folder.)

That is all the file copied to TA3D by the installation ms-dos program.
And the others are just files like NL.dll already exist in the TA3D folder.

there is nothing that helps in the logs :( .

Remove the cache_info.txt file, it'll force TA3D to refresh the cache.

If it still doesn't work, you can try 0.6 alpha packages, it can change lots of things since it's not more based on Allegro but on SDL.
