Would be very nice if it was possible to convert .s3o (Spring format) to .3dm.

Is it possible? :D

I don't know how Spring models are stored, but it should be possible to get at least the geometry and textures

we just need someone to look at it, so it'll wait a bit

Not a problem, just post a ticket about it and it will be done, when opportunity comes. :D

I've looked at TA Spring S3O code, this format is very similar to 3DO, it only adds support for UV mapping and up to 2 textures per unit (3DM supports up to 8 ) and various rendering methods (GL_TRIANGLES, GL_TRIANGLE_STRIP and GL_QUADS). So this shouldn't be too much work to implement ... except maybe for textures since they aren't included in those files and I didn't look at how they're stored.

Good news :) And a question - 3DMeditor support shaders. Does current version of TA3D support shaders as well?

3DMEditor and TA3D shares the modules that handle 3D objects and load 3DO and 3DM files. In a few words : yes :) TA3D supports shaders.

But we should think of a replacement for cards that don't support GLSL, that way it'll preserve compatibility with old hardware.
