Rock models

Post by Corsaire » Sun Dec 02, 2007 5:06 pm

Lots have been made for several 3D models like metal and trees but somehow the rock models seems to have been forgotten.

You can have a viewable demo when you load the Lava Alley map.

and I'm sure they're not the only one.

there are very few sprites that were converted to 3D: only some metal patches (some are still sprites).

so we need people to make replacement models for sprites ...

Lathan stanley made a feature pack of s3o models for spring that had lots fo rocks trees and other vegetation. It even had giant swamp trees mushrooms and easter island heads.

do they look the same than the sprite models in TA ?

The main goal of TA3D is to be the exact same of TA in full 3D, after that you can add more possibilities of course, but we must focus on this first.

The very transition from sprite to model leaves that out of the question for a lot of things.

Yes, there are many 3D features, created for Spring. Some time ago I`ve get several features packs with their authors agreement to use them in TA3D. Many of them does look like original sprites, others are don`t. But still there are some features that can be fully used in TA3D. Don`t remember why I didn`t use them, seems to me because of some kind of s3o->3dm convertion problem. (s30->3ds->3dm if to be correct).

I`ll see once more what can be used from there :)

Well spring features are all single objects with uv maps.

I'm sure lathan stanley would provide you with the generic non-spring specific data if you asked him. Smoth did some stuff too as did noize, you might wanna ask them, although smoths comp has been foobarred lately.
