I've implemented a makeposter command. If you don't give parameters it takes a poster of the size of the screen otherwise parameters are width and height of the poster:
makeposter width height
It can make big posters (but it takes time since they are saved as TGA files which become quickly huge).
I've uploaded the result of a small test:
