I try from anywhere with all permissions allowed, running as admin and all it does is show up in processes in the task manager for a moment then vanishes again, even tried running it in program files (x86). My system specs are below: 4GB RAM AMD Phenom II x4 955 processor (quad core 3.2ghz) Geforce ...

Re: New sky textures
Done! Images were large in file size so i had to make them smaller, just ask me if you wish to have the full size images. I couldn't really do much with space skies so one of the images is there 4 times, you don't need to replace all of them if you don't want to. :) http://www.box.net/files#/files/0...

On another note I saved the two camera mode icons in 24-bit not 32. So if you have any minor issue, that's probably why. And wtf at the arrow and circle images, so hard to edit without problems.

Re: TA3D 0.6 beta 13 for win32
Well I noticed in metal maps I tend to get the "send/dont send" error report and it crashes the game. sometimes this happens mid-game and sometimes right after loading the map. Well in the current state, aircrafts are rather sucky looking, they're all jittery when the height map goes bumpy. Is there...

Re: Creating 16 bit maps for TA3D
Bridges in TA are impossible unless it's part of the height map. Because OTA didn't allow units to use models as a 'ground' to walk on. I'm hoping theres a possible way with your engine, to allow me to make models of bridges in the maps. Even platforms that units can stand on.

So whats up with this anyways? I want to make some maps! Another thing to consider really is the ability to use models to create bridges and the like. Not sure how much of that is to do with xpoy though. _

Re: TA3D 0.6 beta 13 for win32
Awesome, Thanks
On another note it seems metal maps have always been buggy, not just in this beta (haven't tried in this beta actually..) I'm gunna go ahead and say it's either the skybox or the features, because what else can it be?

Re: TA3D 0.6 beta 13 for win32
Is it possible to make aircrafts fly at their set altitude based on the water level height or something similar to that so that aircrafts have a smooth flight (as if they were flying on a completely flat map). It doesn't have to be the water level, even the average height or something, just would be...

Replace files with this and it should all be fine. A note though, the loading menu is glitched in-game, nothing to do with me, it is an engine bug which bugs the hell outa me.

Done all, uploading soon but sorting files out. Oh and btw great improvement from beta 10 :P love the smooth scrolling around the map compared to 10. Re: TA3D 0.6 beta 12 for win32
I can tell you one thing though, the reason for some of the white backgrounds was due to me being lazy and using beta version 10 rather than updating through 11 and 12. :P Just got 12, must say it's nicer gameplay. Only thing, it crashed on the excess II mod with fixed camera angle, crash was about ...

How are things coming along?
Re: Lasers!
Another thing you have yet to consider it flares from the guns, they can be sprite based too now. No need for any special effects, just make sure they look bright.

Re: Guardian : work in progress
Please don't use that texture. Ya know if you have any UV mapped, untextured models I could probably do a half decent job, just show me to them. I say they need to be UV mapped because that part takes time for me.
Re: Lasers!
Ah, in such a case then I made this image too, laser with head and tail. If you want to make it shorter you only need to cut part of the middle out.
Re: Lasers!
Looks brilliant! apart from the laser has a shadow.
How is the way you suggested different from the original plan? Unless you mean to make the head and tail all in one image?

Re: Lasers!
How goes the progress? Want me to make some quick head and tail for it along with an alpha map image?
Re: Lasers!
I attached some quick images below for you to play with
Re: Lasers!
Indeed texture with an alpha channel would work perfectly Left and right would be convenient, by adding head and tail you mean another small image attached to each end correct? Easily enough done, and repeating the middle image would be great, this way you can choose how long it is by choosing how m...
Lasers!
Change them, basically. I suggest the spring way, using sprites (images) to make the lasers look cooler, they also don't look like lasers in TA3D at the moment, they look dull. They need to be lighter rather than coloured stretched blobs. I made an example of what I mean with two of my own home made...

If you head over to this site you can find all the textures you need for models like this.
http://www.filterforge.com/filters/ if you click by category it makes things easier, and there's thousands of good stuff there. All tile able.
