Hmm on me it is different the last time i wanted to play TA3D .6 Beta 2 the loading was a bit slow on units but it dint toked too long and immediately after it got loaded there is a Commander and a Big and Fat a word "Welcome" and it had freeze right there but no Crashes weird might be Units related...

I have an Idea.. Might Culling + Level of Detail would make those Ultra-HD Units be able to set on the Game? Because As far as i know the farer they get , They will be less detailed And it get only rendered what the Player 'Sees' so it wouldn't cause huge FPS hit when the Ultra-HD Models get used co...

Unless we get Quantum Computers which is capable of drawing 100 Milliards or more of Polygons and Ultra-HD Textures and 50 Milliards of Units at the same time on a 100000x100000 size map with 5000 Players :mrgreen:

also the PeeWee gun looks like a Larger Uzi's the gun of it could stick a bit more

Hmm.. it seems 3ds export creates triangles on it.. but not OBJ ,
but because OBJ can have only a single objects and not several.. it is a pain in the ass to do that,
oh well maybe i need to get used with it..

Because at the moment i suck at UV Mapping and so i need to stick to 3do because i can make the unit quickly textured with acceptable result,
and the Triangles makes it look more uglier and it causes "bad lightning" like one of the triangles is brighter then the others one etcetera..

Oh that explains why it takes *long* to load stuff and converting.

Will TA3D soon include those "OpenGL Friendly Formats" in the same TA3D Release or it will be separated?,

or is it already on work that TA3D can support those Files directly and doesn't need to be converted?

That`s because 3D models in Spring, TA3D and TA can be constructed only from polygons with 3 sides (triangles). You can convert quad polygons to triangles in Wings3D before export, but anyway, your 3D model can be constructed only from triangles. this makes no sense i have seen other 3do models tha...

os: Windows XP Pro 32 Bit SP2 ram: 2x512 DDR1 Ram gpu: 9800 GeForce GTX on Spring the loading time on units is fast, on TA3D the loading time on units/models is slow.. how come?, on TA it is fast also.. So i have that problem that haunts me for a quite a while, when i am making models in Wings3D and exporting it to a 3ds one and loading up Upspring and loading that Model, it creates "Triangles" my original Model in Wings format doesn't got any Triangles added to it, same thing happens on 3dobuilder...

Some of your Todo list's are already done in Spring RTS which is GPL so you can salvage stuff for it no need to code for it IMO
